The delegation of the Donetsk region consisted of the representatives of the Regional State Administration, Special Economic Zone "Donetsk", the Mayor's office of Mariupol and the Mariupol Port Authority has visited Turkey, where they were acquainted with the activity of the Aegean Free Zone "Izmir".

Inhabitants of the Donetsk region were convinced themselves, that the Special Economic Zone has huge potential, promotes social and economic prosperity in the region and country, and also gained experience in the operation of the Aegean Free Zone.

As a result of dialogue with Turkish businessmen and directors of the Augean Special Economic Zone, the Protocol of Intentions was signed. The Protocol confirmed the desire of the Turkish party not only to help in creating organizational structures for the Special Economic Zones in the Donetsk region, but also to invest their capital in the Special Economic Zones of the Donetsk region.
