The Ukrainian Association of Special Economic Zones was created one year ago in Crimea. The primary goals, which were assigned to Association include: assistance to scientific - methodical and methodological development of socio-economic organizational issues of the Special Economic Zones, development of international relations between the members of Association and foreign Special Economic Zones, technopolises and technoparks etc.

From April 21-23 the general meeting of the Association was held in Yalta, where the representatives of the Board of the Special Economic Zones of the Donetsk region, and of the companies involved in investment projects participated.

The members of the Association have discussed problems involved in the development of the Special Economic Zones in Ukraine, ways of making them operate more fruitfully, perfecting the laws regulating the activity of the Special Economic Zones and the Territory of Priority Development.

It is necessary to note, that tasks foreseen by the work plan of the Ukrainian Association of the Special Economic Zones for 2000-2001 in the Donetsk region in the main were realized. The work on advertising activity, interaction with executive bodies and legislative authorities, on encouraging the foreign investors and the creation of optimum working conditions for them is being carried out.
